Happy Summer!

and happy sweating?

I don’t know about you but I am not the biggest fan of this Maryland heat and humidity.  While I do love the occasional outdoor session, doing them in the summer is not ideal (unless there is some water nearby to jump in and cool off!)

So, I know what you’re saying – where do we do my photoshoot then?!

If you know me at all, you know I love options and a change of scenery.  We can have sessions in my home studio, your home, (yes even outdoors), but my favorite is a styled home shoot!

Styled homes are essentially the same concept as a studio, but you generally get use of a full, beautifully decorated home with natural light. The added bonus of being in Southern Maryland is that a lot of these homes can also be waterfront with views and access to the Patuxent River.

Here are some benefits for renting a styled home for any photoshoot –

Do you have a particular style or aesthetic in mind?  There are many styled homes to choose from and we can absolutely find the perfect backdrop for the session you’re envisioning.

No Prep

No need to clean, tidy, and declutter before your session.  Styled homes are at the ready.  All you need to do is show up!

This is a big one.  Sometimes,  you just don’t want your own home on the internet but you still want that home-y feel.   Styled home shoots are perfect for this.

One of the advantages of a styled home is that we don’t have to contend with Mother Nature – bugs, heats, poison ivy, rain….Outdoor shoots are a crapshoot – which can be very frustrating when you don’t get that perfect day you were imagining.

Versatility and Creativity

Styled homes offer an array of opportunities for creativity and versatility. With various rooms at your disposal, we can experiment by incorporating different areas of the home and any props or decor that we can find!

Let me do all the work!

The best part?  I have already scouted quite a few homes in DC, Maryland, & Virginia that I use regularly.  We can discuss the overall aesthetic we’re looking for during your consult and I’ll take care of the rest!
